A
warm March catapulted EFN’s Mother Earth Farm into spring!
Our crew of incarcerated women from Washington’s Corrections Center for Women
began their season at the farm mid-month. With their help, we have seeded over
500 trays of vegetables, potted up over 2,000 baby tomato plants, and harvested
over 200 pounds of winter carrots for our food pantry partners.
The farm is buzzing with activity, baby plants, and the roar of tractors
working in the fields.
April marks the beginning of volunteer season at the farm; please come out
and help us grow fruits and vegetables for those who are food insecure here in
Pierce County.
