Kevin Ash has been volunteering with EFN’s Mother Earth Farm since 2016, and has continued to devote more and more time each year! He has given 47 hours of service at the farm to nurture our rows and grow food for those who need it.
The farm staff greatly enjoys his peaceful presence on the farm, always working diligently on the task at hand. Reliable and consistent volunteers like him are one of the reasons that we can grow so much food with such a small staff. EFN Farm Manager, Jesse added, “Kevin comes to the farm with a background in landscaping so this volunteer knows his plants. He is a joy to work with and always dedicated to the task at hand.”
When asked why he continues to give his time to our organization, Kevin had such a gracious response:
“Volunteering at EFN’s Mother Earth Farm has been a perfect fit for me – being outside and getting my hands in the soil. It is amazing, under the guidance of Jesse and Sam, how much organic food is produced. Last I heard, it was more than 170,000 pounds of food so far this year, on a well managed 8 acres! Honestly, I feel lucky to help contribute to the success of Emergency Food Network.”
