Individual Volunteer of the Quarter – Kristy Willet
Our Individual Volunteer of the Quarter is Kristy Willet! Kristy first volunteered with EFN in a Repack Project back in 2015. Five years later, Kristy has given more than 100 hours to EFN. This number does not even include the many hours she has spent coordinating additional volunteer involvement with her team at Heritage Bank. Kristy is one of many champions to strengthen Heritage Bank’s partnership with EFN to ensure everyone in our community has access to food.
Kristy has also been a member of our EFN Ambassador Board since 2017. The EFN Ambassador Board is a group of young philanthropists that serve as stewards to bring more community members and organizations into EFN’s network. Kristy enjoys having the opportunity to meet and work with people in fields that don’t always correlate with her own usual circles. Part of her role as an EFN Ambassador Board member and as a steward for Heritage Bank volunteers, is to recruit more people to be engaged. Kristy encourages new volunteers, “to come see the scale of the warehouse. I think it says a lot about both the level of need in our community (which might go unnoticed to most of us in our daily lives) and of the impact EFN has. I also tell them the time goes quick, it’s fun and active. I love that Heritage Bank’s regular repack events give us the chance to interact with employees we might not normally see often. I regularly ask friends from work, who I don’t see as much as I’d like, to sign up for a repack with me so we can find an excuse to hang out for a couple of hours while doing some good for our community.”
Thank you for supporting Emergency Food Network in so many ways, Kristy! What an amazing impact you’re making!
