We are now three months into our Adopt-a-Row program with AFSCME WSCCCE Local 3787 at EFN’s Mother Earth Farm. This group of librarians and library support staff mean business! They are growing three rows of Russian kale, that will be distributed to food pantries in Pierce County at harvest. Local 3787 has been out to work on their rows seven times this season already, clearly dedicated to taking care of their rows.
Our Farm Managers report that this group shows up with an eagerness to farm and tend to their beautiful kale rows. This group is fast and efficient! Not only do they make their adopted rows free of weeds, they also move on to neighboring rows to help us out on the farm. We are so glad to have the help and appreciate their time at EFN’s Mother Earth Farm.
